Laura White Animals, birds, plants are captured within the human gaze for our pleasure and convenience. Although the lion in a zoo or the robin redbreast singing in a holy tree are natural in their makeup, the theatre in which we stage them is highly artificial. Projected moving images promoting illusion and imagination are grounded in the here and now by objects and sound.
